Tuesday Dinner (#3)

like we always do...

Tonight (Tuesday night) was the last in a series of December dinners and boy are our arms tired...but seriously, I'll be here all week (really...) and don't forget to try the veal...er, lamb.

We hosted Timo and Hilari who were kind enough to allow me to act as a crew member on their sailboat (a beautiful J 120) for a few races on the San Francisco Bay this year. Hilari tipped me off to Timo liking lamb a whole lot so we did this:

- Savory Baklava (with wild mushrooms and goat cheese) with Field Greens and Port Shallot relish
- Pan Roasted Lamb Racks with a Red Wine Pan Reduction
- Charred Shallot Mashed Potatoes and Haricot Vert
- Flourless Chocolate Cake with Mocha Ganache and Raspberry Coulis

Lots of real familiar dishes (for me) and loads of interesting conversation about dogs, boats, food and geeky network stuff. A nice way to cap our 2004 dinner season.
