Character Assassination

it's closer to character manipulation though...

Woo-hoo! I finally got Japanese characters working on this blog. Heh, now for lots and lots of fun....

Oh relax, I'll translate in some way for those who cannot read the kanji (漢字).

If your browser is set to auto-detect a page's encoding then you should be fine. If not and if you see some broken characters along the way....something like this:

    "忘れãªã„"

then simply set your browser's page encoding to "utf-8" (or Unicode). Things should look better then...

Here...try it, this next line should be three characters:

    くしく

the first and third characters should look kind of like left angle brackets "<" and the middle one should look like a fish hook. If you see that then your browser is fine. If not, fool around with the page encoding preferences until it looks like what I described.

And what does it say? It says "kushiku" (koo-shee-koo) which is part of the word "kushikumo" meaning "strangely, miraculously, or mysteriously". It is also the name of a place in Japan...

OK, OK, language-geek lesson is over now...
